Current* Maintained the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) and enhanced the backend Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) server software by analyzing requirements and architecting solutions. The system is utilized by 1,300 medical facilities serving 9 million enrolled veterans.* Constructed a pregnancy status documentation system to enhance the medication order checks for women of childbearing age by displaying the status and calculated likelihood of becoming pregnant within the message text.* Managed enhancements in 5 applications by leveraging Agile methodologies and participating in Scrum meetings to discuss changes in development, deployment, and integration plans to ensure project success.* Collaborated with the business owners to critically think through what-if scenarios, troubleshoot uncommon clinical scenarios, and pushed them to think beyond the initial requirements to deliver a system that met the users' needs.* Designed and implemented the data schema in FileMan and application programming interface (API) in M for the electronic prescribing of controlled substances project, ensuring providers could only order medications for which they were authorized.* Recognized a business need for the enhancement of an existing application programming interface (API) for the order check process within the Outpatient Pharmacy application and further implemented that same enhancement within the CPRS application.* Mentored a team of 10+ contractors, performed code reviews, and provided mentorship into standard practices and APIs.
