Brief Biographical SketchRobert E. Feinstein, M.D., is Professor of Psychiatry at the Dell Medical School and formerly at University of Colorado School of Medicine. He is Associate Chairman of Education, in the Department of Psychiatry and Director of Integrated Mental Health at University Texas Health Austin. Formerly, he served as Senior Associate Dean for Education (2007-2011) at the University of Colorado School of Medicine (CU-SOM) and led the medical school in a successful LCME accreditation. While Senior Associate Dean, he was also concurrently Psychiatric Outpatient Practice Director at the University of Colorado Hospital (UCH- Psychiatry OPD). Dr. Feinstein was previously Director of Residency Training for 7 years at New York Medical College Westchester Division. As Psychiatry Residency Training Director, he also led the program to a successful ACGME/RRC full accreditation. Dr. Feinstein has spent his entire career in academia. Dr. Feinstein is an expert in practicing and teaching 6 forms of psychotherapy, including psychoanalysis, psychodynamic psychotherapy, family therapy, crisis intervention, CBT/Motivational interviewing, and Gestalt Therapy. Dr. Feinstein is also an expert in integrated care, personality disorders, and suicide and violence prevention.
