I am an undergraduate student at Cornell University majoring in Statistics and Data Science with interests machine learning, artificial intelligence, and mathematical modeling. At Cornell, I conduct machine learning research on geospatial datasets. In particular I have been working on deep-learning networks that can use real-time satellite data to predict where lightning will strike ahead of time. Forecasting high-intensity storms has broad implications as the climate crisis continues to accelerate.At PECO, I learned how to apply machine learning and analytics to a practical business setting. Over the summer I utilized logistic regression and random forests to predict successful electric jobs. I also had the opportunity to leverage neural networks by building an image-classifier that could detect electric meters from Google StreetView. Throughout my internship at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, I have learned how to utilize climate data within ArcGIS and Python. I am particularly skilled in the statistical analysis of impervious surface, elevation, and rainfall datasets. Through this analysis, I have performed flood risk modeling for the City of Durham, North Carolina.
