Production Supervisor

Supervise production of 60 welders and assemblers in a fast pace facility, manufacturing equipment for agriculture, construction and military applications. Duties include maintaining a safe work environment, adjusting schedules to meet customer demands, scheduling manpower and training employees.• Increasing cab production on one of the weld lines by 20%.• Worked on the start up of a new product quickly getting new employees trained to meet customer demands.

Managed 12 hour shifts in a finish department with 25 – 30 production and maintenance union employees on a shift accountable for safety, delivery, production, recovery/cost control, supporting continuous improvement activities and implementing the ALCOA Business Systems.• Implemented a process on a scheduling system to allow schedules to be down loaded from a Shop Floor computer system to the production center operating system that resulted in a 90% reduction in the time spent to create schedules.• Served as process/technical advisor for metallurgists resulting in increased uptime, by fewer practice/temperature changes, and increased line speeds on several products ran on a continuous furnace.• Created and implemented methods to process hard alloys on a furnace that prevented weld breaks inside the furnace.• Worked as a resource for the installation of a new piece of equipment at another ALCOA facility and assisted in the start up of the equipment, solving issues of operating functions and controlling material movement while the line was running.• Applied problem-solving abilities and used help chain resources to increase asset utilization by 25%.• Established practices for running a new product to be used on fire trucks, which resulted in 500,000# of additional business per month.• Managing short/long term production scheduling and forecasts to increase delivery to >90%.• Handling customer needs including visiting customer plants and collaborating with manufacturing engineers to identify and solve issues. • Worked on new machine guarding standards/upgrades to improve the work environment to decrease injuries and to increase safety awareness.

Owned and operated a local lawn care business that provided landscaping services and chemical applications for pest control.
