I am a highly skilled professional with over 20 years experience in several technical related fields, looking to transition into the Cybersecurity world. Beginning my self taught journey into computers with the Tandy 1000SL computer from RadioShack, I have learned several different programming languages from books, saved countless dollars building my own computers from bare-bone motherboards, to recently preparing for and passing the Security+ exam. In addition, I have designed and implemented my own home network using a spare Dell computer and the pfSense software. In addition, i created my own pfSense firewall rules allowing me to separate my iOS/macOS devices from my IOT devices for security reasons. As well as implementing my own home firewall, I have also setup an Ubuntu server on my network, integrating Nextcloud and Plex Media for home use.Having worked as a field service engineer, I gained valuable soft-skill experience tasked with the responsibility of coordinating the efforts of various job-site individuals to lead projects to completion. Being the only individual in my assigned territory, I had to manage my own workload, expenses and travel with minimal supervision and in a cost effective manor. I work effectively in team environments and am also a patient instructor using these skills as a mentor to junior field service technicians as well as providing software training to new hires.
