I assembled a mobile field lab and supervised a graduate student and multiple summer students in a comprehensive field study of the pathogen in northwestern Montana. I also participated in field studies of Borrelia crocidurae, the etiological agent of tick-borne relapsing fever in Mali, West Africa including the collection and establishment of a colony of Ornithodoros crociduria ticks and collection and diagnostic testing of small mammal samples.
