The Convention Services Manager acts a liaison between the customer and hotel sales person to provide direction and supervision during execution of meeting and banquet functions and/or event. He/she will be available to customers during event process to solve problems and/or suggest alternatives to previous arrangements. They will directly serve on site group and catering customers in a proactive manner working with the logistics of group room blocks, food and beverage, public meeting space, and billing processes. The Convention Services Manager will play an important role in the achievement of re-booking group business for future dates while demonstrating effective upsell skills to obtain maximum profit.• Direction and inspection of proper set-up, break-down and cleaning of all banquet functions space, equipment and supplies.• Directs the proper service of food and beverage in accordance with contractual agreements.• Organizes and represents Hotel at pre-function meetings to ensure proper service and all requirements of the function are met.• Greets the customer and maintains on-going communication throughout event.• Proactively anticipates guest needs and resolves complaints and requests in a timely and efficient manner.• Maintains constant communication with the culinary staff, Sales Managers and to address all changes in event.• Computes billing for each Banquet function and ensures that all checks are signed and payments are processed in accordance with the signed client contract.• Responds quickly and follows up to ensure guest satisfaction • Assist in the hiring process • Problem resolver from all aspects from employee, sales manager, to guest
