We covered emerging companies , funds as well as ranking the large Nasdaq-listed companies by several categories. I wrote or edited over 100 stories on abusive short selling, testified before Congress on the subject and was credited by the head of Nasdaq for several reforms. I retired in 2006 and my son Brian and I went on to found totally online Flaherty Financial News Inc. and its two newsletters. The adventure continues. -

I won awards, wrote exposes and was Forbes' mutual fund editor three different times. I also served as President of the New York Financial Writer's Association and co founded their annual scholarship program for financial journalists and their annual achievement award for long run contributions to financial journalism. Forbes wrote that my output was "awesome" among other things. I have won four journalism awards and a special citation.
