In my role, I am pivotal in driving the digital transformation within qualification assessment processes, focusing on developing, implementing, and enhancing digital learning experiences through the SQA Academy service. This service supports SQA staff, appointees, centres, and learners across Scotland, reflecting our dedication to fulfilling Scotland's educational and economic goals using innovative, collaborative, and data-driven strategies.My leadership is centred around the innovation of e-learning and supporting digital transformation throughout the organisation. My responsibilities encompass designing engaging online learning programs, promoting digital innovation, developing strategies for digital content creation and delivery, managing project delivery within set objectives, budget, and timeframes, mitigating project risks, analysing business challenges, ensuring quality in project documentation, strategic communication with stakeholders, leading and motivating teams, and coordinating project partners.I bring essential skills to this role, including leadership in digital learning development, contributing to strategic planning that aligns with a 'digital by default' approach, and a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in digital services. My work significantly impacts Scotland's educational sector, advancing digital learning and assessment.

I manage the operational activities related to the production, delivery, and review of digital learning and assessment content. My responsibilities span across various digital platforms and qualification levels, with a focus on enhancing user experiences for diverse groups. I am tasked with planning, executing, and evaluating digital content projects, adhering strictly to development processes and meeting established timelines and budgets. This is crucial for the continuous advancement of SQA’s digital services.I lead a team of Learning Technologists, ensuring the delivery of high-quality digital content on time, which is pivotal in improving learner engagement and outcomes. My duties also involve upholding stringent quality standards for new digital content, guaranteeing compatibility across multiple devices and browsers, and ensuring adherence to the latest accessibility standards.As a leader, I mentor, coach, and train my direct reports, optimising team performance in alignment with SQA’s values. I actively monitor and enhance digital content quality and lead training activities to boost the efficiency and effectiveness of our digital service delivery.I am deeply involved in the ideation and implementation of innovative, technology-enhanced learning and assessment methods that contribute to organisational growth. My role requires me to provide expert advice and support in various internal and external meetings, thereby enhancing the digital services offered by SQA.Furthermore, I ensure that all digital initiatives comply with organisational accessibility and equality guidelines, advocating for digital technology to drive business and operational improvements. I manage budgets in accordance with SQA’s policies, commission services within financial limits, and contribute to business continuity by identifying and mitigating potential risks in my area of responsibility.
