Dr Forget has a BSc in Physical Therapy from McGill University. After three years of clinical practice, he did an MSc and a PhD in neurological sciences at Université de Montréal. He pursued postdoctoral work in human neurophysiology at Hôpital de la Salpêtrière in Paris and in psychophysiology at Tilburg University in the Netherlands. He is a full professor at the “École de réadaptation” of the Faculty of Medicine at Université de Montréal. In April 2000, he founded the Centre de recherche interdisciplinaire en réadaptation du Montréal métropolitain (CRIR) and was the scientific director of biomedical research of this Research Center until June 2009. From 2009 to 2015 he was director of the physiotherapy programs at the Faculty of Medicine at Université de Montréal.His scientific interests are in sensory-motor integration during normal and pathological posture and movement in human. He particularly studied somatosensory sensibility and adaptation after lesions of the peripheral and central nervous system and excitability of nervous circuits in relation to muscle force and coordination. He is exploring the use of increased sensory input for neurological rehabilitation. Recently, he has been looking at sensory integration deficits after mild traumatic brain injury.
