Thin Films Manager *In 2004, I started the Thin Film Coating Department from the ground up. Commissioned new coating machines, spectrophotometers, temperature and humidity chamber, and salt fog chamber. *Design thin film coatings to meet customer spectral and environmental requirements. *Work with customers to help specify coatings that will meet their needs without adding unnecessary expense. *Work with optics manufacturing department to help plan production and coating schedules. *Write procedures and train Thin Film Coating Technicians for cleaning parts, running the deposition equipment, running the environmental test equipment, measuring and inspecting coated parts. *Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment. *Oversee Thin Film Coating Technicians work and schedules. *Specify and outsource coatings that are outside of our current capabilities. *Design tooling to hold custom optics in the coating equipment.Plan and attend exhibitions at trade shows.

*Write code, assemble hardware, and help install a camera on a focal-reducing system on the AEOS 3.67 meter telescope at Haleakala, HI. The camera was in partnership with Rice University for the study of Gamma Ray Bursts. *Assist with Hardware and Testing of video-metric speed camera. The system uses parallax to calculate real time distance and speed measurements of vehicle and pedestrian traffic. *Support optical production by troubleshooting and repair of computer, software, and manufacturing equipment.
