I served in the Royal Navy as an electronic engineer for six years before leaving the military in 1989 and studying for a degree Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Glasgow. Upon graduating I joined, the then, British Aerospace (BAe) as a systems engineer and have worked on various aircraft projects including Hawk, Typhoon and F-35, as well as gaining a company sponsored Master’s degree in Systems Engineering Management from University College London (UCL) in 2011. With experience in the design, development and support of aerospace ground equipment, pilot helmet mounted display systems, aircraft fuel systems, airframe technologies and engineering processes, my current role is focussed on exploiting Virtual and Augmented Reality visualisation technologies within the business to ensure that BAE Systems products and services remain competitive in a highly challenging market.
