Melbourne, Florida, Us

Create and execute change notices for spaceborne weather instruments and ground support equipment (GSE). Utilize Windchill 10.2 to manage affected and resulting objects including promoting, transitioning and organizing parts lists and supporting documentation. ESD certified to work in a cleanroom environment.Responsible for mechanical design of moderately-sized test assemblies from initial concepts and skeleton creation through COTS parts selection and final GD&T fabrication drawings under tight deadlines.

Mar 2016 - Sep 2016

Principal Mechanical Designer

Dulles, Virginia, Us

Interact with lead engineer and multiple design team members to effectively utilize top-down design process, simplified representations, model based definition (MBD), Windchill APDM and piping module to create complex RF Waveguide and installation assemblies for communication satellites.Interact with lead engineers and analysts to independently develop vibration, thermal and integration Ground Support Equipment (GSE) parts and assemblies from concept to fabrication drawings.

Jan 2015 - Mar 2016

Senior Designer

Us

Collaborating closely with lead optical and mechanical engineers to successfully arrive at cost effective solutions that meet scientific and testing goals for light weight ceramic mirrors. Actively taking projects from initial sketches to complete GD&T (ASME Y14.5-1994) or model based “art to part” limited dimension fabrication drawings, COTS part selection, parts lists and assembly drawings for mobile cooling curtains used in thermal testing.

Oct 2014 - Jan 2015

Cad Proengineer Model Checker

Metairie, La, Us

Utilized extensive experience in ProEngineer design principles to quickly troubleshoot errors, mentored less experienced users and assured first time quality product definition for all drawings and models. This required thoroughly reviewing Creo 2.0 drawings and models for compliance with the Boeing SLS CAD Standards as well as proper use of skeleton models, large assembly management, WT Part structure, APL, Windchill APDM and best practices.- In order to unite the model checkers, designers and engineers as well as reduce confusion, I wrote an efficient process requirements checklist for all to follow reducing errors before drawings were submitted.

Jul 2013 - Jul 2014

Lead Engineer, Homer Laser, Gcas Intrument

Lanham, Us

Pro/Engineer, Wildfire 5 (Creo) solid modeling, drafting, mechanism, sheet metal, IntraLink 9.1 (WindChill)GCAS; I enthusiastically took the project from initial sketches to complete “art to part” fabrication drawings, COTS part selection and assembly drawings. This involved collaborating closely with scientists, aircraft technicians, electrical engineers & technicians and fabricators to successfully arrive at cost effective solutions that met scientific goals. - My versatile “A frame” spectrometer structure approach created a stable platform while providing large surface area for electronics and allowed for future expansion/modifications.- Working closely with fabricators during the design process allowed me to avoid costly operations and deliver the enclosure on time and below initial estimates.HOMER; I was responsible for the mechanical design of the HOMER laser for the DESDynI LIDAR spacecraft effectively incorporating the needs of science, environmental, design engineering and spatial limitations to quickly visualize component, sub-system and spacecraft configurations. I worked alongside the machinist, thermal and structural engineers to refine the design and improve the pointing stability while reducing weight. I coordinated the design efforts between three team members and myself under tight milestones.- My innovative HOMER laser bench approach increased the stiffness over the predecessor as well as reduced the interface points, part count and made a top assembly approach feasible allowing for simultaneous alignment and assembly of multiple lasers thus saving time, manpower and money.- My optical flexure designs decreased the beam to bench distance by 66% making the output beam more stable.Projects: GCAS (Geo-Cape Airborne Simulator) – Aircraft spectrometer instrument.HOMER ETU (High Output Maximum Efficiency Resonator) – Flight like engineering test unit laser.JWST (James Webb Space Telescope) – Environmental testing equipment.

Jul 2009 - Jul 2013

Architectural Designer

More Than Drawings

I have been a freelance designer for individuals and builders using DataCAD 11.0 software. I have many satisfied customers ranging from small additions to 10,000 square foot houses.

May 1984 - Jul 2013
