I am a qualified and experienced structural engineer and Conservation Accredited Engineer (CARE) working full time in a civil and structural engineering design consultancy based in central London. I lead our heritage and refurbishment team predominantly undertaking inspections, repairs, extensions and refurbishment projects to historic buildings and structures. I have undertaken several large-scale redevelopments and technically challenging projects to historic buildings, focused on the structural design of superstructure, substructure, basement and back analysis of existing structures. I am passionate about the conservation of our historic built environment and actively promote the ideas of reuse and rehabilitation of older buildings, not only to preserve but also to upgrade, refurbish and update existing stock to meet our urgent sustainability and environmental targets. I am currently also a member of the Institution of Structural Engineers and ICOMOS, and an expert member of the ISCARSAH international committee.
