Hello, Bonjour, Hola, and welcome to my LinkedIn profile! My name is Robert, and I would like to share with you all a few facts regarding my background in education and my previous employment opportunities. After graduating from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia in the fall of 2010, I made the decision to further my education at the University of Georgia. There, I acquired my TEFL/TESL certification, and embarked on what I thought at the time would be a career teaching English to students abroad. My first assignment was at SLP Changwon, a school located at the southern tip of South Korea. Korea has such a vibrant and ancient atmosphere about it with Buddhist temples and mountains stretching as far as the eye can see. It was a joy crafting lesson plans for my students, and organizing performances for their parents and families, and just working every day with the children and watching them flourish in grasping concepts of the incredibly complicated English language. This marked a very transformative life experience for me, but it also became a very lonely experience as well. The decision to move back to the United States was not an easy one, and what made it even more difficult was knowing that the U.S. was still recovering from a state of economic depression at the time. I was still able to find work, however, and I ended up working three jobs at one time (Bath and Body Works, Buckle, and Kirkland’s) - all located at the same mall. Working that much really helped to develop my work ethic and it helped me to appreciate other employment that I was able to get later on. The opportunity to work in converting came to me in the fall of 2015, which is when I began to work for a company called Aspen Products in Macon, Georgia. At Aspen, I oversaw a line (and sometimes two lines) of machines and people which converted sheets of flat paper into plates and bowls. I was employed here for almost three years at which time I was referred by a former coworker and began working for another company in the paper business, Irving Tissue. I began employment at Irving Tissue in the fall of 2018 working in the tissue mill. I have had the privilege of working on the commissioning and start up of two paper machines with TAD capabilities during my time at Irving thus far. Also, I have had the good fortune of working at two of our other paper mills locations- one being in Fort Edward, New York, and the other located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada for an extended period of time.
