Passionate about education and community-building, my journey has been shaped by various experiences that have influenced my approach to teaching and mentorship. My career in education started at a summer camp where I spent five fulfilling years. This experience sparked my passion for teaching, leading me towards a professional path in this field.I began my academic journey at Husson University, which was as rewarding outside the classroom as it was within. As a dedicated member of the Track and Field/Cross Country Team, I not only broke several school records but also learned the invaluable lesson of building a solid and supportive community similar to a family. My commitment to excellence and teamwork on the track paralleled my academic endeavors.During my time at Husson, I had the opportunity to serve as a student mentor, which allowed me to develop my skills in guidance and leadership. After my first year, my advisor personally invited me to assist in mentoring a freshman class, which was a pivotal experience in enhancing my understanding of student needs and educational dynamics.Moreover, I was entrusted with a special responsibility to participate in the interview process for a full-time position at Husson as the new Student Success Advisor. Being part of this process was an honor and a significant learning experience, offering me a deeper insight into the administrative side of educational institutions.After three years at Husson, I transferred to the University of Vermont to continue pursuing my passion for education. This transition marked a new chapter in my academic and professional journey, allowing me to broaden my perspectives and skills.As I look forward to a career in English and education, I carry with me these diverse experiences - from athletic achievements to mentorship roles - all of which have equipped me with a unique blend of leadership, teamwork, and a deep commitment to student success and community building.
