Focuses on innovative problem solving by deploying kinetic architectural design solutions. Deep experience in residential projects at all scales, mixed-use developments, commercial, transit and museum exhibitions. Collaborates with architects from around the globe on new projects. Private commissions have been recognized by over a dozen national and international awards, including AIA National Honor Award, AIA NYS Awards, AIA NY Award, Architizer A+Awards, Residential Architect design award. Project extensively published in a variety of media, including: the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, New York Magazine, Dwell magazine, Architectural Digest, Architect magazine, Dezeen and Grand Design Magazine. Projects have also been featured on HGTV, NBC, CBS, France2, and over 3.6 million viewers on YouTube.Prior to establishing his private practice, Robert was an associate at Grimshaw and the global lead for sustainability. As project architect he led the Via Verde affordable housing development and the Fulton Center project. Both highly acclaimed award-winning projects, deploying innovative design and technologies, with a very high degree of sustainability from inception. Since 2010, he has been a professor at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Architecture and Planning, teaching in the Master of Real Estate and Development program. He has also been a professor at Pratt Institute’s School of Interior Design teaching core studios, as well as options studios.
