Odyssey II Solutions, Inc. (OIIS) was started to support the development and certification of safety equipment aboard aircraft. Specifically, initial endeavors supported the development and certification of systems for the Boeing 787. Upon completion of those projects, OIIS has continued to support aviation and other areas effectively as a contract research organization (CRO). The company’s history has been one of working with customers to optimize designs and implement research approaches for new technologies that allow compliance to industry standards and government requirements. A major component of these efforts has been implementation of protocols involving human subject testing. All performed consistent with state and federal regulations as part of an approved protocols from independent and internationally recognized Institutional Review Board (IRB). Optimization of human performance under various environmental stressors has been a mainstay of these efforts through the years. The physiological range of individuals addressed has covered those effected by disease states through highly trained professional athletes. In addition to initial work with Boeing, examples of collaboration include business with Collins, Safran, Astronics, and the Mayo Clinic.

Principal Investigator of Environmental Physiology Research at FAA CAMI. Led research related to human protection from environmental challenges consistent with aviation operations and associated regulatory compliance issues. Responsible for writing whitepapers, Office of Aviation Medicine research reports, presentations, and lectures consistent with FAA mission supporting offices falling under FAA Administrator for Regulation and Certification. Unprecedented coordination of trailblazing approaches to issues through coordination of government, universities, and private industry.
