I advise Irish companies on funding for R&D, business innovation, capital equipment and the implementation of digital management (ERP) systems. I help them to navigate the different funding programmes, assist with project design/costing and with the filling out the application documents. When applications have been submitted, I am responsible for conducting technical assessments and for making recommendations to the various Committees on what to fund and why. I work closely with EI's overseas office network to promote international partnerships and to help foster international partnerships.

I benchmarked environmental performance including energy & water use, GHG emissions, waste & wastewater management for key exporters such as dairy & meat processing, timber, engineering, and cement/construction. Worked with Ireland's medical device, pharma, and biotechnology industries to increase sales and to promote research collaborations in France by engaging directly with purchasing organisations and French multinationals and by organising partnering conventions and by engaging one-on-one with Business Development executives.

EI's biotechnology directorate managed bioresearch centres at TCD (Pharmaceutical Biotech Centre), UCD (Agricultural Biotech Centre), UCG (National Diagnostics Centre), DCU (National Tissue Culture Centre) and UCC (Food Biotechnology Centre) with a combination of national and EU funding. I was responsible to patenting and licensing new technologies emerging from this research.
