I look after the day to day operations of the PIM/data and content team as well as ensuring that the data and content department’s interests are represented in planning and development of new systems.I have defined the processes which are used for the creation of product content including defining the workflows, managing the implementation and testing of changes to existing systems and integrating these new processes which have resulted in changes in the working practices of other departments within the business.More recently I have been managing the process of getting the Maplin product content into a form that products can be listed onto the Tesco direct market place.

Working in a fast paced high pressure environment I had to react and deal with unpredictable situations and problems as they occurred in an effective way that did not impact customer service. In this role I learnt effective and transferable customer service skills as well as skills for interacting with people. Additionally in this role I learnt about closing sales and communicating the best solution for a customers problem.

During my time on this project I was responsible for determining the options for customers to refine their searches and ensuring that all data was populated. This involved a large amount of contact with suppliers and manufacturers both in the UK, Europe and the Far East. As part of this process the website hierarchy was evaluated. The process gave me valuable insight into website taxonomies and how customers navigate websites.

I was working as the technical head. In this job I built and managed two servers running LAMP (Linux, Apache, PHP & MySQL) as well as shout cast. I also restored an Alice Air 2000 Mixing desk to full working order and built a studio around it. I also programmed a piece of radio play out and automation software which the radio station is still using, this software also integrated with a PHP based website which is used for station management, to provide information to the listeners and to allow presenter to manage and prepare their shows.
