The PEI Federation of Agriculture's Executive Director, runs the operations of PEI's largest general farm organization and reports to a Board of Directors comprised of grassroots producers representative of the broad spectrum of the PEI agricultural sector. Responsibilities include:•Overseeing the operations of the organization•Managing the human resources of the Federation•Managing the financial resources and physical resources including providing a detailed budget for approval by the Board of Directors and subject to review by the general membership•Providing communications and media advice to the Federation•Overseeing the design, marketing, promotion and delivery of quality programs, products and services offered by the Federation•Providing quality advice to the Board of Directors on the general direction of the organization including the formulation of policies complete with strategic planning•Represent the organization and its mission, programs, products and services to relevant stakeholder groups and the general public•Other diverse tasks as required

Work to ensure that the province's interests are represented in national and regional policy discussions. This involves:- Developing and coordinating strategies and policy positions;- Coordinating and/or preparing briefing materials for meetings such as First Ministers Meetings, Annual Premiers Conferences, Council of Atlantic Premiers, New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premiers and the Southeastern United States-Canadian Premiers Alliance;- Advancing and promoting the Province's interests in regional discussions, initiatives and agreements;- Developing and implementing the Action Plan for Atlantic Regional Cooperation and New England Governors-Eastern Canadian Premiers resolutions;- Undertaking research, strategic planning and policy development activities as required; and- Providing policy support to the province's representative on the Federal/Provincial/Territorial Council on Social Policy Renewal.

Through research and analysis, provide advice and strategic leadership in the development of Transportation Policy and Infrastructure Funding in the Province of Prince Edward Island on broad transportation, public works, and/or infrastructure issues and initiatives. . Work with Federal/Provincial/Territorial partners to advance Canadian transportation policy and represent the interests of the Government of Prince Edward Island within the various Organizations and Committees. Provide advise to Departmental Officials, the Deputy and the Minister on matters related to this area of Federal/Provincial policyProvide leadership and strategic guidance to the department on policy issues. This includes the preparation of reports, case studies, data collection, briefing notes, and analysis of options.
