I am a Senior Lecturer at the University of Lincoln specialising in Mental Health Social Work. My teaching and research interests include psychosocial and alternative perspectives on mental health, as well as practice and law in this area; and the role of professional values in intervention, service provision, and commissioning.I am a qualified and registered social worker, and have worked in a variety of mental health teams in central London and rural Lincolnshire; although most of my experience has been in Crisis Resolution. My most recent role was as Professional Social Work Lead for an NHS mental health foundation trust.I also continue to practise as an AMHP and a practice educator, am an HCPC visitor for AMHP and Social Work courses, an elected member of the mental health faculty at TCSW, and am on the executive committee of the Social Perspectives Network.
