Grau Stone and Masonry, incorporated in July 2020, is a masonry business specializing in residential brickwork, stonework and chimney repair. Founding this business carries on the tradition of Grau tradesman-business owners using the skills and trade acquired in formative years. Hermann Grau founded Grau Construction as a German immigrant in Buffalo NY in 1962, and trained his sons to become master craftsman.Grau Stone and Masonry does quality brick and stonework at competitive prices throughout Rochester, Western NY and the Finger Lakes.

As four term President led the creation of this 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and directed development and operational implementation for the first Enterprise Facilitation project in Africa. · Led the initial study and exploratory visit to Africa as part of “The Bishops Initiative on Children and Poverty.” Assembled the core team, which developed an African partnership, strategy and vision for this business and economic development enterprise. · Engaged and led contract negotiations with business consultant and partner, the Sirolli Institute and facilitated training events in the US and the Congo. · Coordinated capital campaign raising $100k in startup funds and $100k for program expansions. · Facilitated growth and expansion to new Congolese communities. The program in Kamina, Bukama and Kalemie has directly assisted clients for 1500 businesses in creating over 9,200 jobs.

Served two terms as Board Chair for the Carlson MetroCenter YMCA, the flagship facility for Rochester’s downtown urban community. · Reorganized the Board of Management Charter and committee structure to reflect YMCA missional priorities of Healthy Living, Youth Development and Social Responsibility. · Led recruitment efforts to diversify and grow board membership twofold while also growing the financial and philanthropic commitment of the board.· Achieved Carlson’s annual fundraising target raising over $100k in four successive years as part of the YMCAs $2.5M annual campaign. * The COVID pandemic forced the permanent closure of the Carslon facility in March of 2021.
