With over 10 years experience in the charity sector, I lead a team raising more than £400k+ per year across a diverse portfolio of mass participation events, challenges and community initiatives. During this time, my work has been recognised with a number of awards on both a national and regional level, including the CharityTimes Fundraising Innovation Award in 2019.I am currently the Events and Digital Manager for a hospice charity in Kent. With an annual running cost of over £14 million, I work with the wider fundraising department across a three-site organisation to maximise voluntary income, expand our supporter base and increase the charity’s brand awareness in the community we serve. My team develops new and existing events within our calendar that are engaging to our supporter base and maximise the income generated for the charity. I have strong IT and communication skills, both written and oral, which help me to nurture relationships with supporters, volunteers and corporate partners to achieve financial success for the organisation. I am proficient in the use of database software packages “The Raiser’s Edge” and "Donorflex" as well as Microsoft Office suite and design software such as Adobe Illustrator.I have been involved in the planning, promotion, and delivery of a wide range of fundraising events in my career including: black tie evenings, concerts, mass participation events such as walks, treks, runs and cycles, direct mail campaigns, community initiatives such as Christmas tree recycling, overseas treks and cycles, secret art auctions and many more besides.As an aside to my regular duties, you will often find me working closely with our Supporter Relations team to assist and improve processes surrounding our fundraising database. With benefits from the bottom to the top of the organisation.For an idea of the motivated individual that I am, you need look no further than this. In 2014, I broke the world record for cycling across Europe (North to South), completely solo and unsupported; beating the existing record by nearly 5 hours. This project, whilst undertaken in my own time and period of annual leave, also raised nearly £3000 for two charitable causes and I was also able to engage the support of six corporate sponsors to back the project.I have also ran the London Marathon in 2020 and the London Landmarks Half Marathon in 2023.In my spare time I enjoy cycling, game design and I am currently teaching myself to play the guitar.
