Located domestic options for many of those parts, including manufacturing many in our shop.• Created workflow strategies as well as physical alternatives for newspaper production. Developed strategies for alternative sources for supplies and production capabilities in the event of production failures.• Evaluated individual performance to determine best practices based on knowledge, skills and abilities to determine which employees to retain. Developed new roles, job descriptions and training material to help retrain existing employees.• Provided training and support for the team to ensure that each person would be successful in their enhanced role.• Conducted employee reviews and evaluated goals.• Evaluated cost vs. performance and tested paper, press, plates, press blankets and ink.• Was responsible for contract negotiations and procured large press and packaging equipment and all production materials.• Researched and evaluated suppliers to retrofit the electronic components of the press.• Developed strategies to cut costs and increase operational efficiency that contributed to the long-term vision of the company.• Project Manager on a joint venture between a leasing agency and the newspaper to repurpose and remodel a 9 story building into residential units and a ground floor distribution center for the newspaper. Worked with Corporate Project Leaders, Engineers, Architects and Contractors to gather overall cost estimates, schedules and material costs.• Project Manager working with Architects and Contractors on specifications and requirements for a new paper storage warehouse.
