I completed an internship at Ohio University-Survivor Advocacy Program, which is a grant funded program to advocate for victims of stalking or sexual assault. Additionally, there is an outreach educational component focused on facilitating discussions on: consent, stalking, sexual assault, bystander intervention and healthy masculinity.

I was responsible for helping individuals seeking financial emergency assistance such as facing eviction, utility disconnection, be connected to local resources such as agencies and churches. This included making sure the individual was utilizing all possible government and agency assistance before receiving any assistance from a church. Also, I was responsible for helping local church leaders learn what type of assistance programs already existed in order to help them minimize duplication of outreach services while exploring specific niches they could focus their efforts on such as phone bills or assistance with diapers and formula.

In this position I coordinated urban service projects for school groups, church groups and college organizations. Each service project was designed to meet the specific needs and social issues chosen by the leaders of the group. Recruited church and school groups to participate in our urban service projects. I also developed and centralized the volunteer program for the agency, this included updating policies, applications, job descriptions and tracking volunteer involvement.
