Rob Dugger is a retired investor and executive. He is an education philanthropist and serves on the board of the Seaport Foundation in Alexandria VA, and is an emeritus board member of the Council for a Strong America, and co-founder of ReadyNation and chair of its Advisory Board. The Seaport Foundation provides 17-23 year-olds who need a new start, with a safe haven where they can learn career and life skills through one-on-one mentoring, personalized instruction, and project-based learning. ReadyNation is the preeminent business early-childhood advocacy organization in the United States. For more than a decade Rob has been a leading advocate for strong parenting and families and for policies that support America’s children.Rob has received numerous recognitions for his work in early childhood, including the McCormick Foundation’s Center for Early Childhood Leadership’s “Corporate Champion for Change” award, Zero to Three’s “Reiner Award for Outstanding Advocacy on Behalf on of Very Young Children” award, and the Committee for Economic Development’s “Trustee Leadership Award”. Rob is also and a co-director of the Global Working Group on Human Capital and Economic Opportunity with Dr. James Heckman, University of Chicago professor and Nobel Prize winner.Rob began his career at the Federal Reserve Board in 1972, and in the 1980s served as a senior staff member of the US House and Senate banking committees. In 1988 Rob left government service to become Policy Director of the American Bankers Association. In 1992, he shifted fully to the private sector becoming a partner in the global hedge fund, Tudor Investment Corporation, a leading global currency, bond, and equity trading and investment company. From 2002 to 2010 Rob chaired the board of Singita-Grumeti Reserves Ltd, a wildlife conservation project of Paul Tudor Jones dedicated to preserving the wildebeest migration route outside the Serengeti National Park. During Rob's chairmanship, Singita-Grumeti became one of the world's top-ranked ecotourism hospitality destinations. Rob graduated from Davidson College, and received his Ph. D. in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
