• Maintain all aspects of production for 1 of 4 units within the organisation.• Plan material requirements in accordance with current order book levels.• Physical stock checks on monthly basis to maintain optimal stock holdings.• Ordering, maintaining levels in accordance with current order book.• Allocate materials to specific work.• Manage order book.• Manage work load for 2 flame cutting machines & 1 plasma cutting machine according to customer contracts.• Create CNC programmes for the flame cutting machines utilising AutoCAD & post processing software.• Operate multiple flame cutting & plasma machines.• Liaise with customer in relation to design and manufacture of product.• H&S: Maintain clean & manageable working environment in terms of health & safety in accordance with HSE guidelines.• First aider.Competencies• Supervise a team of typically 6 production workers in a manufacturing environment.• Maintain good industrial relationship by negotiation & verbal communication.• Plan production schedules in line with current & future work orders.• Maintain a lean production working schedule in terms of material’s and personnel.• Ensure that resources in terms of machinery, staff & materials are effectively managed.• Manage health & safety as part of the health & safety team working in line with the company health & safety policy & HSE guidelines.• Decision making in terms of the purchase of material for quality, grade and amount, prioritising work loads & personnel, managing working hours.• Work to planned & unplanned deadlines.
