Now, once again I am looking for work that I really enjoy. Before becoming a teacher of IT, Robotics and Video Game Building, I was doing work as a contract Controls System Engineer. I enjoyed building the controls by hand, doing the wiring, the soldering, even labeling the wires. I programmed the systems both PLC and HMI. I am looking forward to doing more hands on work. I enjoy building things from the ground up and am looking forward to doing it again.In my working career I have repaired board level electronics to military specs and programmed AVR systems. After my military work as a Multichannel Communications Repairer (26L) and Microwave Repairer (26V), I did board level repair work while waiting to get into my Electronic Technicians course. When I completed my 2 years at Anoka Vocational Technical College I worked in an Industrial sensor manufacture (Rosemount Engineering) doing automated testing of components for validating values and tolerances. An internal job move put me into the R&D department as a bench technician, along with working in the engineering computer department as a Unix Systems Administrator (BSD).While working as a technician I was also attending college which led to my BS degree in Computer Science. Before starting college fulltime, I was asked to join a special project that involved the creation of a new industrial sensor networking paradigm (HART Protocol). As the bench technician, I build and tested the designs. After completing college I programmed IVR systems and did direct technical support. In a stint as a computer contractor I work at several different jobs doing everything from systems administration to data collection and analysis of operational statistics on newly design systems. From there I went into the Technical Support arena. There were several help desk positions and software support positions. These jobs were satisfying because I helped uses but I missed the more hands on type of work.
