As the DHS director I am responsible for the coordination and the administration of all County Human Service functions. Additionally, I am responsible for directing the Human Service departments through effective planning, staff management, and resource allocation. While maintaining a focus on the management of all priorities, critical issues, conflicts, and the effective coordination of programs and strategies to protect and improve the health, wellness, and safety of all Human Services employees, County residents, and program participants.

As the Department head and a member of the senior leadership team, I played a key role in expanding the facility from 50 inpatient dual diagnosis beds to over 100+ beds in 1 year while overhauling a 14 bed medical detox unit and all inpatient units. I directly oversaw 30+ direct care workers and 4 shift supervisors. My responsibilities included coordinating organizational operations between the behavioral health technician department, the clinical department, environmental services, facility services, and the nursing department. Additionally, I acted as the facilitator on behalf of the Executive Director overseeing the daily operations within the facility. I also served as a member of the leadership team, including the Director of Nursing, the Clinical Supervisor, the Program Director, the regional food services Director, and the Regional Facility and Housekeeping Director. Additional responsibilities included working with risk management, new program set up and performance improvement committees that spanned across the entire corporate infrastructure.
