Project Manager
CurrentI am the project manager for the Army Expeditionary Warrior Experiment (AEWE), the Army’s largest prototype concept and technology experiment focused on the Soldier and small tactical unit. AEWE informs JCIDS requirement development, shapes RDECOM S&T initiatives, and informs industry IRAD investment. As the Project Lead, it is my responsibility to plan, oversee execution of, and report out on experiments that help the Army shape modernization initiatives. I work with a broad community of practice to develop experiment objectives that support Army Cross Functional Team analytical requirements. I have integrated joint service and allied partners in experimentation to leverage the unique insights from those organizations. I oversee the analytical effort and ensure that insights are written in relevant, concise language to inform Army concepts and requirements. I led the initiative to partner with the United Kingdom’s Infantry Trials Development Unit that is now in its third year. I forecast resources, including FORSCOM troop requests, and operate within a budget and on schedule. I supervise a core team of eight, which expands to over 65 during execution of the experiment. Since its inception AEWE has become a key contributor to iterative learning with concepts and prototype technologies. We report insights through the doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leader development, personnel, and facilities (DOTMLPF) domains. Key outcomes of the experiment in recent years include highlighting the utility of small tactical unit unmanned aerial systems (UAS), tactical communications and network concept refinement, subterranean navigation concepts, merging intelligence and maneuver C2 systems, tactical CBRNE decontamination, Scout Platoon organization and numerous training systems.
