Technical Manager. Responsible for process technology, including new process development, existing process optimization, Quality Assurance for all products, product Technical Service, process safety, environmental compliance. Process Development: Evaluate 20 to 30 new reaction and distillation opportunities per year; successfully commercialize at least 2 – 3 new chemical manufacturing projects each year, generating annual revenues for the company in the range $35,000 to $ 2.1 million. Process Optimization: Improved production rates for several existing chemical manufacturing projects, resulting in more efficient equipment utilization. Optimization tools included ChemCad computer modeling, Lab evaluation and plant trial runs.Product Technical Service: Provide application and technical support for customers of Monument products.Process Safety: Chairman, Process Safety Subcommittee; leader/facilitator for Process Safety Reviews, including HAZOP; PSM facilitator, responsible for Pre-start-up Safety Reviews and new project training.Environmental Compliance: Complete, review and submit required documentation, reports and notifications to EPA and TCEQ including PI-7 (Permits-by-Rule), TRI, TSCA inventory reporting and Annual Emissions Inventory.

Development Engineer. Responsibilities included Process Development, Process Optimization, start-up engineering support and Process Safety; also managed the day-to-day operation of the Hazardous Waste TDS Analytical Laboratory. Process Development: Successfully developed and commercialized 14 new toll manufacturing processes and developed well-designed processes for 10 other projects that did not achieve commercialization. Co-developed a novel purification process for High-Purity acetonitrile from an acrylonitrile by-product stream.Analytical Development: Designed, developed statistically proven analytical methods for all new chemical manufacturing projects.Process Safety: Conducted HAZOP analyses, PSSR and Safety Training for all new projects.

1990 – 1994: Process Engineer, Energy Chemicals. Responsible for oxyalkylation, condensation and batch reaction processes at the Houston Chemical Plant. Functions included process optimization, new process development, debottlenecking, equipment performance optimization and design. 1988 - 1990: Chemist, Petrochemical Additives Group, Energy Chemicals. Conducted applied research; developed new applications, improved existing applications, and provided worldwide marketing technical service. 1985 - 1988: Technical Service Representative, Specialties Chemicals. Responsible for accounts in the western U.S.; managed and expanded a network of distributors, developed national accounts, established professional relationships with corporate and design engineers. Directed the field technical service effort in the U.S., and provided technical expertise for the worldwide market; developed a technical seminar, supervised novel applications, solved problems. 1981 – 1985: Research Assistant, Specialties Chemicals, Technology Group. Managed a product line laboratory; conducted research, developed new products, tested and evaluate existing products and systems, and provided marketing technical service for a specialties product line.

. Operated a front-end loader at the Sohio Base Operations Center in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska; under contract with Sohio Petroleum Company for maintenance of a drill pipe and chemical storage facility.
