Rob Harrison is a Hobart based filmmaker and electronic media artist. He has gained extensive experience in the film and television industry as a director, editor and cinematographer with over six years experience.Since an early age, Rob has had a passion for filmmaking and creating captivating moving imagery. He first embarked on his film career after completing a Diploma of Film and Television Production at the South Bank Institute. Shortly after graduating Rob began operating as a freelance director and camera operator. He then seized the opportunity to work alongside Brett Clements as the Creative Director of Platinum HD and it was there Rob fine-tuned his filmmaking skills.Rob has worked on numerous national television series, such as The Gourmet Farmer, SBS Network and My Kitchen Rules, SEVEN Network. As a cinematographer Rob has had documentaries screened at a number of Australian film festivals, such as The World of Women's Film Festival in Sydney and the Byron Bay International Film Festival. Rob has also directed television commercials for National Australian Companies, music videos for Aria award winning artists and corporate videos for a list clients across Australia.Currently, Rob is completing a Bachelor of Visual Communication to broaden his skills and discover new ways to conceptualize that next big idea. Through his degree in Electronic Media he is now focused not only on pushing the boundaries of screen-based media but himself as a filmmaker.As an Electronic Media Artist Rob has been fortunate to work with internationally recognized artist Narelle Jublien and Curator Paula De Silva, as well as multiple Australian artists. Rob aspires to pair his filmmaking with his art practice and find new ways to engage with his audience.
