Water Superintendent: Where I managed a staff of six, developed and reported on budgets, and reported to and worked with the 9 member governing board to develop and implement the association’s goals and plans. Responsible for a fairly large private Group A water system with 22 miles of pipe and approximately 1,950+ water connections (services)I directed trained and coordinated activities of Surfside’s workers engaged in installation, maintenance, repair, expansion, of water system. Analyzed trends for population growth of area being served to determine adequacy of current facilities and to project community demands for future facilities especially during the development of their current 6 year plan. Responsible to develop, operate, control, and maintain the Association water system in compliance with government regulations and rules. I was also responsible for the maintenance and operation of buildings, property, and facilities of the Association.Surfside Homeowners Association is very much like a small city, it has (6) park like areas with playgrounds / public areas along with (2) fairly large lakes and a fairly long canal, most of these waterways are mainly for flood control but we were also developing a fledgling warm water fishery for the homeowner’s recreational needs. Surfside also has numerous footpaths and bridges that extend to the beach and throughout Surfside that my dept maintained. When I departed from Surfside HOA, my dept had gone from replacing 8 feet of broken pipe in an 8 to 10 hours time frame, to replacing over 225 feet of pipe in 8 hours time with the ongoing water main replacement program. With a four man crew including myself thus saving thousands of dollars for the HOA by keeping the work in house. This was achieved by first equipping the dept with the right tools, then training the crew combined with ongoing process reviews to improve our overall progress and efficiencies.

Products covered a wide range of projects from large printing presses to special one off type machines / fixtures along with design of retro-fits for existing machinery, to complicated plastic parts.

Responsible for several highly successful products that are still being sold today, resolved several long standing flexographic printing issues that had plagued the industry. Primary working responsibility was with the corrugated container division of company, responsible for the design and manufacture of flexographic conversions systems for corrugated printing presses and related machinery. I also developed a new series of flexographic conversions for the multi station Stack Web Printing Presses.Designed and developed a new product line of flexographic conversion systems, this conversion system with the exception of a different drive remains unchanged from my original design and it still performing and selling very well today. Developed a successful totally enclosed reverse angle doctor blade conversions for stacked web printing presses also still in use today.Developed a new 360 running register for the companies 86” x 212” Jumbo Printer Slotter which had been very problematic for the company for many years. My input and innovative designs combined with project leadership, resulted in numerous changes that allowed the company’s largest machine the Jumbo printer slotter to reach its full rated speed with minimal and costly downtime.
