The North Carolina Association of Chiefs of Police was organized in 1976. Today the association is comprised of over 300 active police chiefs as well as their command staff who are committed in providing professional law enforcement services and protecting our state’s citizens. Our association has grown over the years due to the efforts and leadership from past presidents and board members by working with law enforcement professionals throughout our state on common interests.The association's motto is "Law Enforcement excellence for tomorrow...today."

The Reidsville Police Department proudly serves a diverse population of 14,293 in the Piedmont-Triad region of North Carolina just 20 miles north of Greensboro. The department is a full-service law enforcement agency with a $4.51M operating budget. The workforce of 60 employees (50 sworn officers) is committed to providing excellent and compassionate service to the community. The men and women who comprise RPD all serve under one of three divisions; Patrol, Support Services, and Investigations/Community Policing. Services are provided to ensure that safety and security are paramount and delivered in a professional, unbiased, caring, ethical, and responsible manner. The department is committed to continuous improvement and believes that in order for improvement to occur, honest feedback and strong community partnerships must merge with a dedicated, diverse, and highly trained staff. The Fayetteville State University Department of Police and Public Safety is comprised of an exceptional group of professionals who are relentlessly dedicated to ensuring a safe and secure campus experience. With total integrity, these men and women are vital to maintaining a safe and pleasant environment for approximately 6,000 students and 1,000 staff. The department is diverse and comprised of (20) sworn police and (20) non-sworn staff. The department has the most talented law enforcement and professional staff in the area and offer a variety of public safety and crime prevention services. Our department is comprised of police operations, communications, property security, parking enforcement and permits, emergency management, and environmental health & safety. We are a progressive public safety department that places the highest value on partnerships, collaboration, and the safety of our students, faculty, and staff. Our focus is on innovation and building processes that may serve to better the mission of police department and the university. We continuously strive to solve problems throughout the campus community by developing innovative solutions through an integrated network of collaboration. Our primary focus is on safety, improved awareness, and the eradication of crime.
