This requires testing and evaluation of hundreds or thousands of compounds in libraries to lead compounds using in-vitro, cell-based 2D models and further into animal models. Further expanded repertoire of assays beyond 2D test and evaluation screening by moving into more advanced models and technologies including: 3D bioprinting, spheroids and organoids, mechanism of action studies, and artificial intelligence with machine learning.
