I have been working in education for almost 30 years. In Canada, I was an ESL teacher working primarily with adults teaching all levels of English to newcomers to Canada. I taught in various environments including in adult high schools, colleges, and a university. A significant part of my experience has been in TEFL teacher training as part of the Western University's TEFL Certificate program (designed course for online use). In China, since 2009, I have worked to train over 500 TEFL teachers for the Chinese English education industry. I have developed an expertise in language assessment having worked for 9 years as an IELTS speaking and writing examiner in Canada and in China testing and assessing the language skills of over 10,000 candidates. In my current position (since 2014), I am Head of English at an IB school where I teach IB English B, IB Geography, TOK, and IGCSE ESL.
