Bob Heitzman is currently the Principal for Common Sense Success, LLC. He is enthusiastic, professional and accountable to provide experience and assistance to companies or individuals for help on their road to success. Bob leverages his background with Team Building, leadership, motivation, emotional intelligence and mentoring.Bob had previously been a General Manager for Engine Systems Products in the Energy & Transportation Division of Caterpillar, Inc. During his long and successful career at Caterpillar, Bob was accountable for a global organization providing the design, analysis, validation and manufacturing of reciprocating engines and major engine systems. He has extensive background and experience in engineering, research, marketing, operations and field/dealer support. Bob has held a wide range of leadership positions ranging from Product Manager (engines, components, support), Facility Operations Manager (engines & components) and General Manager (engines and components).Heitzman and his family have lived in multiple states across the United States. He is a graduate of Bradley University, Peoria IL in Manufacturing Engineering. Bob is currently on the Central Illinois Red Cross Board of Directors. He is a prior Board of Trustee for Eureka College (6 year term) and Heartland Community College, Bloomington IL board. Bob is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers, former member of the Lafayette, IN Junior Achievement Advisory board and the Lafayette, IN Community Business Council. Bob is active with St. Jude’s, the United Way and the American Cancer Society.
