Youth CoachQueens Park Professional Youth Initiative Nov 2011 - Aug 2018Lesser Hampden, GlasgowI have been coaching training sessions and co-managing games against Scotlands Elite, Performance and Initiative football teams. This involves team shaping, skill development, game awareness and life-coaching for a squad of young footballers who are entering their debut season in 11 a side football.I see this as a important and responsible role in the development of young athletes with aspirations toward a professional pathway into football. My aim in this arena is to provide a mature and rewarding platform for these young athletes, giving them room to gain enjoyment as well as belief and sound grounding in the sport they have chosen.Having coached and helped manage the U-14's youth team at the tail end of season 2011-2012, I accepted role of Youth Coach for U-13's for season 2012-2013. I remained with the U-13's for the new class of 2013-2014. In January 2014, I was delighted to be involved in a 2 week football camp in Valencia, Spain, with the U17's squad as in association with the Da Vinci initiative. I was able to video and blog throughout the fortnight, reporting on the developments and achievements of the squad.Having gained Advanced Children's Licence, I've agreed to coach with the Academy sides for another couple years and this season, I'm delighted to be coaching yet another talented squad in the U12's for 2014-2015. I have been providing First Aid cover for the U16's this season and provides a means to keep in with the Youth side of the Development cycle at The Queen's Park Football Club.
