Katapult Accelerator is Europe's leading startup accelerator program focused on the development and funding of for-profit enterprises that have a beneficial social or environmental impact. I participated in Batch 3 as a startup co-founder of Esusu Financial.

I completed a fellowship program in City Hall via Fuse Corps, a nonprofit that works with city mayors to promote innovation within civic organizations.-- STARTUP IN RESIDENCE PROGRAM (“STIR”) – I collaborated with the Mayor’s Office of Civic Innovation to create a contracting pathway for startups that take part in San Francisco’s groundbreaking “Startup in Residence Program.” STIR pairs young tech companies with City departments to create technology solutions to civic challenges. -- BRINGING NEW TECH INTO GOVERNMENT – I leveraged City Hall’s Startup in Residence Program to build an AI powered chatbot that can help City employees navigate complex government purchasing rules. -- HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT – I worked with the City Purchaser to devise a formal internship program for her department that serves as a robust talent pipeline. I recruited the initial intake of interns and helped equip them for successful careers in government.-- CHANGE MANAGEMENT – City Hall has recently replaced an antiquated finance and procurement system with Oracle PeopleSoft. I worked with the City Purchaser over a 2 year implementation time-frame to help prepare her procurement team for their new operating environment. This project involved KPI development, policy reformulation, and process re-design.-- AUTONOMOUS CITY FLEETS – I worked with the City Purchaser and City Administrator’s Office to help plan for the eventual introduction of autonomous vehicle technology into the City’s fleet of over 7,000 vehicles. This project involved outreach to major companies within the AV ecosystem to discuss piloting frameworks.

I successfully completed an intensive 3 month accelerator program designed by Founder Institute, one of the world's leading entrepreneurial education organizations.

Distributed Sun specializes in solar installations. My role spanned finance, marketing and intellectual property creation. I worked directly with the company's CEO, Managing Director and SVP of Operations, with a core focus on the company's SAAS subsidiary, beEdison.-- MARKETING EXPERIENCE - I project managed the design and creation of the beEdison marketing website. I oversaw the development and submission of the company’s application into the 2015 Bloomberg “Finance for Resilience” competition, where beEdison was selected as one of four winners from a pool of over 50 contestants. I also participated in the creation of marketing materials for the platform, and the formulation of a customer recruitment plan that involved in-depth market research, segmentation and targeting.-- INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY CREATION - I conducted research into credit diligence methods and helped launch the pilot of a co-branded credit assessment service offered by beEdison and S&P Capital IQ. -- EVENT MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE - I project managed the 2014 Solar Network Summit, which was held at House of Sweden in Washington DC. The summit was hosted by Distributed Sun and co-sponsored by Standard & Poor’s, PwC, DuPont, Underwriters Laboratories and Rocky Mountain Institute. Summit attendees included C-suite executives from major solar energy companies and non-profits, bankers from Wall Street, renewable energy developers, and government officials. Attendee feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and led to a greenlight for the 2015 New Energy Summit, which I also helped plan.

CGI was an initiative of The Clinton Foundation, which is overseen by former U.S. President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. I completed a 4 month, 600 hour internship with the CGI America team. I added value within the following focus areas:-- RESEARCH into trends and market developments impacting the renewable energy and sustainable building sectors.-- INVITEE RECRUITMENT for the 4th annual CGI America conference, which took place in Denver in June of 2014.-- OPERATIONAL ASSISTANCE with planning for the 4th annual conference, and the review of "commitment to action" progress reports submitted by CGI members and meeting attendees.

UCP produced scripted television series for NBC Universal's leading cable networks. Representative shows made by the studio include: Monk, Royal Pains, Psych, Covert Affairs, Suits, Battlestar Galactica, Defiance, Mr. Robot, Colony, Girlfriend's Guide to Divorce and 12 Monkeys.-- PLANNING AND ANALYSIS EXPERIENCE - I prepared green-light models; oversaw the development cycle from a finance perspective; prepared annual and long range financial plans in conjunction with the home video and TV distribution teams; monitored show and studio profitability and communicated results through to Corporate. I added value by formalizing the studio’s green-light process.-- CONTROLLERSHIP EXPERIENCE - I worked with the studio controller to ensure that show costs were correctly amortized each quarter, and I participated in the review of key reconciliations and balance sheet accounts as part of the close process. I was one of the main points of contact for external auditors, and reported directly through to the studio CFO.

My Los Angeles based clients were primarily in the entertainment, media and tech sectors, and included:-- Paramount Pictures, -- Activision Blizzard, -- New Regency, -- Revolution Studios; -- LegalZoom; -- International Rectifier.My work experience at PwC was diverse and challenging: -- PROJECT MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE - I managed the workflow of teams ranging in size from 2 to 15 individuals; I prepared budgets and analyzed work in progress; I prepared for and took part in fee negotiations. -- ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE EXPERIENCE - I analyzed business and industry trends, as well as financial statements and risk profiles of complex organizations. I assessed business and talent contracts, helped resolve audit issues in conjunction with client contacts and audit partners, and consulted with technical specialists to provide pragmatic solutions to complex accounting issues. -- HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE - I interviewed job applicants, completed and reviewed staff appraisals for junior colleagues, engaged in career counseling discussions with junior staff, and conducted training sessions on interpersonal skills.
