Rehabilitation & Claims Officer City of Greater SudburyJune 23, 2014- present Responsibilities & Work Performed-Provide representation for the City of Greater Sudbury (CGS) in all W.S.I.B. appeals and hearings for all sites throughout Ontario.-Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with both Human Rights and WSI Act.-Provide guidance, support and advice to departmental managers on occupational and non-occupational claims.-Creating “Return to Work” programs for employees off work or at risk of going off, as a result of both occupational and non-occupational injuries for the entire corporation, both in unionized and non-unionized positions-Analyze site RTW programs, process and make recommendations to effectively mange employees returning to work both from occupational and non-occupational conditions.-Identify barriers in complex Return To Work Cases by conducting case reviews and make recommendations on case management.-Make recommendations in obtaining additional resources when issues are raised in returning to regular employment or modified duties-Assist in the development of a revised Attendance Management Program-Track and analyze trends and duration of disabilities both occupational and non-occupational, and make recommendations so that the data can be used to identify training needs and identify trends in work related injuries.-Provide WSIB Claims Management education for the CGS Community. -Ensure CGS compliance under legislation, relating to WSIB, Human Rights and the Employment Standards Act.
