I am a Research Scientist at JPL who studies the Earth atmosphere and surface through remote sensing and in-situ instrumentation, and manages Earth Science proposals. My experience in mission formulation includes proposal management for NASA Earth System Explorers (2023) and NASA Earth Ventures including the NASA EMIT mission. I have more than 25 years of experience as an aircraft Principal Investigator, and additional experience in untethered balloons and Uninhabited Aerial Systems (UAS). I have worked with a wide range of airborne platforms including the Northrop Grumman Corporation FTB Gulfstream II, the NASA Global Hawk UAS, NASA aircraft including the DC-8, ER-2 and WB-57, and high-altitude stratospheric balloons through the Columbia Scientific Balloon Facility. I apply infrared spectroscopy to study atmospheric HDO and water vapor, air and surface temperature, clouds and chemistry. I am an expert in geophysical/atmospheric satellite validation with unique experience leading my own in-situ atmospheric measurements.
