About Robert Herron

After becoming involved on campus while studying business at the University of South Florida, I decided I wanted a career which would allow me to work on an exciting college campus, all while helping students with their college experience, both personally and professionally. After earning my degree in Business Management in 2005, I started a graduate program in college student affairs, also at the University of South Florida. After earning my graduate degree in 2007, I accepted a position at the University of Tampa, serving as the student union operations coordinator. After working with some great students and professional staff at UT, I decided I wanted to return to the University of South Florida. In October 2008, I returned to USF as an academic advisor for the now Muma College of Business. As an advisor, I had the privilege and great responsibility of assisting students with understanding the college curriculum and course progression, leading to graduation. This position was, and always will be one of the highlights in my young career... which I did not know at the time, I would return to...After 4 years of advising, it was time to continue my professional development. I moved across campus to our student union, the Marshall Student Center, as a facility manager. Here, I had the joy of working with student leaders in both the operational functions of the union, as well as in a programmatic nature. Following my work with the student center, I worked with USF Foundation, Alumni Association, and Alumni Center, where I lead a group of dedicated staff in the operations of the center. Afterwards, my husband and I moved to New York City as I continued to work for USF in recruitment. While NYC did not personally work for us, it was an exciting experience to travel on behalf of the university to recruitment events in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Oregon and Washington State. Upon returning home to Tampa Bay, I had the opportunity to come to the St. Petersburg campus of USF in December of 2018, where I served as assistant director for student life & engagement, serving students in our Student Government Association, Ambassadors program, and student publications The Crow's Nest.In July, 2022, I returned to the Tampa campus and to the Muma College of Business, where I served as a manager for the fiscal & business administration unit on behalf of the college and the university. In September, 2023, I had the opportunity to return to my passion, working with students, remaining in the Muma College of Business, once again as an academic advisor!

Listed skills include Event Planning, Microsoft Office, Public Speaking, Powerpoint, and 6 others.
