Robert Hess is a licensed, journeyman marine engine mechanic with experience in repairing, rebuilding & installing gas/diesel engines, marine gears & V drives, shafts & propellers, dynamometer & sea trial marine engine testing, vintage gas engine carburetors & distributors, marine AC & DC wiring design & installation, solar panels, marine gas & diesel generators, wind generators, fuel cells, marine SSB-HF & VHF radio, marine radar & GPS plotters, marine propane systems, marine holding tanks & potable water systems, water-makers, sailboat rigging, marine cable & hydraulic steering systems, and autopilots & wind-vanes. Robert has his own complete set of hand/power tools & engine machine tools. He has Ontario & British Columbia marine engine technician licenses, as well as national “red seal”, Ontario, & British Columbia automotive service technician licenses. Robert served a 5 year apprenticeship on foreign cars at Gyro Motors & Centennial College in Toronto, as well taking several years of mechanical engineering at Ryerson University. He has worked on cars & motorcycles in Toronto, outboard motors in northern Ontario, snowmobiles & agricultural equipment in northern Alberta, airport runway snow removal equipment in the Northwest Territories, and motor & sailing yachts in Ontario & British Columbia.
