Measured on CESMM3, ICE form of contract.Based on site in Reading, Berkshire to carry out post contract functions including interim valuations, preparation of cost reports and negotiation of the final account and settlement of claim on lane rental resurfacing contract on the M4 motorway, project value £13m, measured on MMHW and associated form of contract.Based thereafter in Babtie Group's Croydon office carrying out pre- and post-contract works on a variety of civil engineering projects.

Working with various companies in the PQS sector including my first company Spicer Partnership starting as junior in the working-up department and working through to assistant quantity surveyor from 1978 to 1983. Over the next ten years gained experience with a variety of companies including Beard, Dove and Partners, Gardner and Theobald in the building sector and Travers Morgan in the civil engineering sector.
