With over 34 years of experience in the Telecommunications industry, specifically in the realm of Public Safety, I have worked closely with major government departments and stakeholders, dedicating more than 31 years to the Public Safety environment in Queensland. My active involvement in numerous national Public Safety and Government Communications committees has equipped me with a wealth of experience and insight into Australian Public Safety communications. I have successfully transitioned through various roles within the Telecommunications industry, progressing from an Engineer to assuming Management and Advisory positions. This journey has enabled me to develop strong leadership and mentoring skills, which have proven instrumental in driving organizational change and implementing strategic communications initiatives.Solving Customer problems is the key to business growth and retention. This is easy to say but often difficult to achieve. Customer insight and also Supplier insight skills are fundamental in identifying the problem, defining the problem and its consequences, matching the solution and its deliverables (matched to the problem being solved) and importantly delivering the solution - for both the Customer and the Supplier.I have a wealth of experience and insight into sales and business growth. Having worked in the customer, supplier, consultant and manufacturer organisations I have gained the broad spectrum of end-to-end product/ solution experience. My current role truly demonstrates how this experience has been used to grow not only revenue but also profit for a private business. My technical engineering experience and end user experience has served me well in understanding what is possible and how it fits a customer’s world to solve a problem, improve their business and keep them competitive in their market share.Having handled challenging situations, I am well-versed in crisis management and problem-solving. Furthermore, my roles in within Public Safety Agencies, including my roles as a volunteer and staff, showcases my hands-on approach and ability to thrive in high-pressure environments. My lifelong passion for aviation has led me to gain qualifications in Drones (commercial licence) , recreational pilot licence (powered parachute) and more recently working towards a helicopter pilot licence.
