Robert Hoffmann joins the fund practice of our Luxembourg office as Of Counsel as of 2 February 2015.Robert Hoffmann, member of the Luxembourg Bar as attorney, has been the first General Manager of the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI).Robert had various assignments in the Luxembourg and Swiss financial sector from 1974 until 1998 (syndicated loans, private banking, global custody, third party fund administration). He was head of the Investment Funds Department with Allen & Overy in Luxembourg in 1999 and 2000, as well as senior counsel with the investment management practice at Loyens & Loeff more recently.In 1982 Robert initiated the ALJB (the Association of the Luxembourg Banking Lawyers). He represented ALFI on the EFAMA board of directors and was a member of the Management Committee of EFAMA. Robert has also been the first director of the Québec based support office of the International Investment Funds Association (IIFA) and represented the Luxembourg fund industry on the board of IIFA (incorporated in Sidney in November 2007).He currently holds a number of mandates as independent director with Luxembourg based funds. Furthermore he is a member of various institutions, inter alia of the OPC Advisory Committee at the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF).
