In this position, I developed both production code for one of Parata's products, and developed internal tools to facilitate deployment of the software to customer locations. This position required primarily WinForms development for an automated pharmaceutical robotics application. The position also required development and support for the backend MSSQL database.

At this position, I was required to have a Top Secret Department of Defense security clearance. In this position, I was a member of team that developed ASP.NET web applications for internal customers within the US Special Forces Command Center. This position also required design and implementation ASP.NET application, MSSQL database tables, stored procedures and data access layer code as well as front end ASP.NET (aspx) web pages. One of the things I am most proud of in my career is my DoD security clearance and the time I spent with the US National Security Agency (NSA) regarding cyber security analysis.

During my second position at Cisco, I worked in the Unified Communications Engineering department within Cisco's IT organization. Within this position, I wrote software to collect information regarding the collection of configuration and performance data from the Unified Communications platform (Windows Servers). After collection of the information, I analyzed the data for global configuration standards, security considerations, and performance anomalies. It was at this time that I developed a US patent for 'High Availability of Arbitrarily Complex Systems'. The software design included a high speed, multi-threaded C# application and an MSSQL backend database. I designed both the application and the database during this time.

My first position at Cisco involved providing risk assessments for Cisco's top 100 customers. In this position I provided analysis for Network/Computer Center High Availability and Cyber Security. This involved intensive customer interactions and coordinating the logistics for a 1 week on-site customer visit. The visit normally consisted of interviewing 30-40 candidates from Network/Datacenter Engineering and Operations. The final product was a report of recommendations that would be presented to senior executives of the customer organization. The primary skill obtained during this time included; customer interaction, technical analysis of customer data and customer responses to an detailed set of questions regarding best practices. Particularly focused on best practices from ITIL, CoBit, ISO, and NIST 800-53.
