- An IOP (Inter-Operability) Engineer, I am responsible for the validation, testing, documentation and maintenance of multiple In-Vehicle Infotainment System test rigs across a breadth of automotive industry clientele. The IOP Engineer’s job as consultant to the customer is to perform a number of rigorous testing procedures designed to find critical fault points and areas of instability within Bluetooth, USB and on occasion WiFi interconnectivity platforms as they relate to the operation of media/entertainment and info-center systems within automobiles. This work is critical for ensuring the complete and stable functionality of in-car systems as it becomes more mandated by Federal regulations that such systems become commonplace within the automotive spectrum on the consumer level.
