Water Front Support Leading Hand
At BABCOCK INTERNATIONAL GROUP over the years I had a number of roles. Firstly I was employed at the company as a quality coordinator which required me to work closely with the mechanical fitters on a number of sites developing work packs from the start making sure the work scope was correct. I was the OHS rep for the company in WA I would conduct audits in the workshop the office, and onsite where the other fitter were located. As the company did not have the best process for OHS i created a data base which included all relevant information required for everyone.I progressed to a mechanical fitter working the workshop and on all the ships and submarines. My role then expanded to be water front support leading were I was in charge of working on the surface fleet conducting tasks and was responsible for ensuring timely work deliver. I trained other tradesmen in systems diagnoses and repair (mainly ANZAC & Collins class) at HMAS Stirling, and I was also asked to train BAE personnel in South Australia on the testing of air reducing stations.
